| Moving south we encompass Catherine Cookson Country and the beautiful coastline, the Angel of the North, Penshaw Monument & Washington Old Hall.
There are 26 WIs in the federation, some meeting in the afternoon, with the majority having evening meetings.
Members enjoy rambling, darts, bowls, quizzes etc. Craft classes and cookery/ flower demonstrations are arranged on a regular basis. Outings are very popular.
In 2000 we began a Craft into Schools Project. Members visit schools teaching the children craft work. This is very popular with the children, teachers and parents.
We are involved in community affairs, raising awareness of Fairtrade and the work of Associated Country Women of the World.
Most importantly we offer friendship to all women, and the opportunity to become involved in local, national and international affairs.
We look forward to welcoming you to our federation.
Regards,
Joyce Little Chairman |
