| North Yorkshire East came into being in 1983 when the very large Yorkshire Federation was divided into six smaller units. This year 2008 we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary with many special events.
We have 107 WIs in our Federation with approximately 3,000 members.We cover a very large area from the south of Selby, across the North Yorkshire Moors, to the coast, north of Whitby and west to the A1. Most of our WIs are in rural areas but we are opening new WIs in towns and workplaces
We own our own Federation Headquarters in Thirsk. We produce a monthly Newsletter informing members of workshops, day schools, learning opportunities, talks and trips arranged by the Federation Executive Committee and four sub committees dealing with Home Economics & Craft, Arts & Leisure, Public Affairs & International, and Membership & Training.
The WIs in our area offer fun and friendship and a way to be involved in a local community and make friends,
