The Challenge
You are invited to take part in the WI Carbon Challenge, proudly supported by Marks & Spencer. We're looking for 10,000 people to put their best foot forward. Like all great ideas, it’s very simple. There are lots of ways you can reduce your carbon footprint and make a real difference.

One of the myths about climate change is that the problem is too big for individuals to address. Not so. All of us can make a difference to greenhouse gas emissions by saving energy. And saving energy will lessen the effects of climate change.

Did you know that if you only boiled the water you actually need every time you make a cup of tea you could, within a week, save enough energy to light your home for a whole day?

Climate Change is all about cause and effect. You really can change the world our children and grandchildren will inherit from us. Taking part in the WI Carbon Challenge is the first step in a long and crucially important journey.

Take the WI Carbon Challenge in five easy steps
1. Take the first step and find your carbon footprint through WWF’s footprint calculator
2. Join the WI Carbon Challenge by registering your details at the end of the calculator
3. Tell your friends – anyone can take part, so pass on the challenge
4. Try to reduce your carbon footprint as much as possible using the steps provided
5. Keep visiting the website to find out how you are reducing your footprint and tell us how you are doing

Why not show your support for the WI Carbon Challenge with one of our mugs or lapel badges from the WI shop.
