Training has always been an integral part of the WI. As well as offering a range of courses at our adult residential centre, Denman College, we also provide training and courses specifically for WI members. 

Travelling Tutor Scheme
Some courses are available through the Travelling Tutor Scheme, where the tutor's travel is funded by a grant from the Department for Education and Skills. These include: Trustee training days; the Independent Financial Examiner scheme; and public speaking training.

National Training Team
The National Training Team trains WI Advisers, Federation Officers, Independent Financial Examiner Trainers and WI members in public speaking. The trainers all have a very sound knowledge of the WI and hold recognised qualifications in training or adult education. The trainers receive regular update training, funded by a grant from the Department for Education and Skills. National Trainers are also available to facilitate local conferences, sub-committee training days and other federation courses.
