Welcome to the Cambridge Federation

For 85 years there have been WIs in the county of Cambridge; the earliest of these were Bottisham WI and Lode WI, formed in March and April 1918 respectively.
Within the beautiful city of Cambridge and its environs our 2,000 plus members pursue and enjoy activities and subjects as varied as gliding, scuba diving, crafts and public affairs. No project is too challenging and innovation is the federation’s watchword.Jean Coxhall - Chairman
This maxim is reflected in our new, state-of-the-art, eco-friendly office. Following Agenda 21 principals this building tells Cambridge that the WI is here to stay.

Our federation organises events, outings and day schools, with something for every taste, where WI members can come together under the banner of CFWI. Individual WIs also organise similar events for their own members and for groups of WIs.

The federation executive committee, consisting of 12 elected and co-opted members, meets during 11 months of the year as do its sub-committees. Whatever your interest, there is a niche for you within the realms of public affairs, leisure, combined arts, home economics and specialised craft or finance.
