Welcome to the Kent West Federation

The West Kent Federation boundary extends from the busy Medway Towns and London Boroughs in the North, to the fruit orchards and open countryside of the Kentish Weald in the South.
We have 163 institutes and just under 6,053 members and our federation is unique in that it operates a district system with 6 or more institutes forming a district, under the guidance of a district secretary and treasurer. The districts form the important middle tier in our three-tier structure, communicating and operating closely both with the federation and with their institutes.Angela Robins; Chair
Our interests range from public affairs to a wide variety of crafts and home economics. Music and drama (performing arts) also play an important part in the very active life of our federation. We are very community minded and together with East Kent Federation, over 30 of our members have joined the Kent Voluntary Sector Emergency Group which is ready to respond in the event of an emergency or disaster in our county.
