SUSTAINABLE  COMMUNITIES

Jo Williams attended the 90@90 Closing Conference for our Federation and learned that Nick Hurd (M.P.for Wokingham) had brought in a Private Members Bill on Sustainable Communities. Local people know best which amenities they need. We must build support at a local level.

In  October every Local Authority wil receive an invitation to submit suggestions for Sustainable Communities via. Citizens panels .Start thinking NOW of Local Actions required and GET INVOLVED.


ASSOCIATED WOMEN OF THE WORLD

Project 0719: To Empower Poor Rural Women In India through Pickle Making. Ladies you are fantastic! We have sent the full £1,221 to ACWW.

If you have raised money for this project,please send it to Derbyshire House clearly marking it PROJECT MONEY and it will go towards the next project we adopt. Make the cheque out to DFWI and write ACWW Project on the back of the cheque and on the envelope. 

It is great to know that by each of us adding £1 we can make such a differnce together!

The next European Meeting will be held in Southampton in September 2008. Do look on the website! Visitors can attend the conference for one day only at the very reasonable price of £65 so if you are close by book your place now.
