Inter County Quiz

Congratulations to the members of the Wessington and Brackenfield WI who won this quiz held in Newark!

 WI of the Year 2007 Competition

Of the two portfolios that represented the Derbyshire Federation in the National Competition, Turnditch and Windley WI were Highly Commended. Congratulations go to them for this great achievement.

Both the Derbyshire portfolios are fabulous and show what exciting fun is being enjoyed by so many members.Congratulations to all who were involved in the making of such splendid testimonies to WI Life here in Derbyshire! 

They will be on view at Denman's Diamond.

LADY DENMAN CUP 2008

Write a short story based on the theme “Ghosts”. Stories must be no more than 500 words and must end in the line “…so beware, you may never know who is present at your WI meeting!”

 Entry forms can be downloaded from www.theWI.org.uk/competitions  or obtained by sending a large SAE marked Lady Denman Cup Competition to Derbyshire House in Sherwin Street.

 Entries must be received at Derbyshire House, Sherwin Street by Thursday 10^th July and the three winning entries from Derbyshire will be forwarded to the National Competition. Please enclose a SAE if you wish your entry to be returned.

WI Advisers' Cup 2008

Please produce a promotion pack that will attract new members for your WI. The pack should contain three to five items which could be used at Village or County events.                                                                                              The cup will be presented to the winning WI at the Autumn Council Meeting.

Please send entries to Derbyshire House, Sherwin Street by Monday 28th July. 

Healthy Lifestyle Project

Can you create a healthy picnic? Do you have 10 top tips for living a healthy lifesyle that you are willing to share with fellow members? Then this competition is jsut made for you. The NFWI/FSA is looking for a WI that can produce a list of 10 toptips along with a menu for a healthy picnic.

The winning WI will be awarded £250.  For full deatils go to the NFWI competitions page. Entries must be in by 1st.August 2008

WI Bulb Competition 2008

This year the competition was for a photograph of WI Bulbs and the winners were: 1st.Mrs.Kay Marples (Egginton WI) 2nd.Mrs Beryl Toms (Morley WI)  and 3rd. Mrs Meeds (Etwall WI). Marjorie "The Bulbs" says a big THANK YOU to all the members who have entered the WI Bulb competition while she has been bulb lady!
