| With over 5000 members and 183 institutes we are one of the larger federations, combining the best of the past with the knowledge of the present, whilst looking for the innovative bright ideas of the future.
In Somerset we have lots on offer to suit all outlooks on life. Craft sessions are always well attended, as are painting and drawing classes, and having our own demonstration kitchen in WI House, we also offer numerous cookery and related courses.
Sporting tournaments, skittles, scrabble, tennis, bowls etc, are popular, as are other leisure activities. We are renown for our outings and holidays, having been to China, Russia, Holland, Scotland and many UK destinations in recent years. Watch the events pages to see where we are off to next!
As a WI member you can hear interesting monthly speakers and join in as many or few other activities as you wish. There will be a WI not too far from your home so do come and join us and enjoy our 4 Fs; friendship, fun, facts and food.
